Purpose
To support events held outside France and events hosting a large number of professionals organised outside France, designed to promote creation and the performance of new and recent works from the Sacem repertoire, involving an element of artistic risk by including emerging local songwriters, composers and performers.
Eligibility criteria
-
The organisation of master classes or professional meetings during the festival to promote emerging artists, the production of audio-visual recordings and/or modules for publication online, and the organisation of residencies establishing paid collaborations with local creators and musicians are all important elements that will be taken into account when assessing the grant application, in addition to prior consultation with SACEM including information on the artists taking part.
-
Certification that the event is recognised by the local authors' society is required for the application to be considered.
Amount of funding
Up to 20% of the total artistic budget, including travel expenses for songwriters and composers, to a maximum of €15,000.
Requirements for the application
- A document describing the event:
- programme
- advertising policy, media partnerships, attendance, professional artists involved, etc.
- programme for any ancillary activities: masterclasses, meetings with professionals for development of emerging artists, audio-visual and/or web module recordings, paid residencies for local creators and musicians, etc.
- Budget and financing plan (form to be completed)
- Any other document you may wish to submit in support of your application
Evaluation of applications
- The Cultural Support Directorate will examine the application and make a decision on behalf of the Board of Directors. The project organisers will receive written notification of the Directorate's decision, which is final.
- No application having once been considered can be re-submitted.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Payment of support
- The grant will be paid after an agreement has been signed with the beneficiary, setting out the conditions for support by Sacem.
-
The beneficiary must submit a written report on how the aid will be used within the time limit set out in the agreement, by saving an artistic review (with a list of any professional meetings) and a financial statement (specifying the amount of fees to be paid to the local authors' society) to the computerised file. Failure to provide any of these documents will result in the consideration of any new application from the project organiser being suspended.
-
The SACEM logo and the motto 'la culture avec la copie privée' (culture with private copying) must be displayed on all visual and written communications, and on all documents in general that relate to the SACEM-aided project.
- A confirmation of payment, including any amount already paid.
